Call for on-demand requests for beamtimes (Non-proprietary research proposals)

The current additional beam time requests are available until 10:00 on June 9(CryoTEM; June 9)

SPring-8 MX beamlines are now accepting beamtime requests for BL41XU, BL45XU, BL32XU, BL26B1.
The applicable period is as follows.
10am April 8 to 10am June 9

Beam time requests are reviewed by the SB Subcommittee and, in principle, will be allocated on the first-come basis.
Procedure:

1. Please select the beamtime (“Open”) in the Beamtime schedule.
   Currently, BL45XU is highly booked. So, users are also advised to apply beamtime in BL41XU for the automated data collection.
   Please check the beamtime schedule and apply to BL41XU “Open (Auto)” beamtime.
2. Send an e-mail to pxbl(followed by @spring8.or.jp) at least 10 days before the desired date. Please attach the two forms (Beamtime Survey Sheet、Crystal Spec Sheet) when you apply, and specify the beamline and the date. If you have a photo of the crystal, please send it too.

The minimum beamtime for each beamline is as follows.

• BL41XU : 0.25shift (2 hours). Remote access available
• BL45XU : 0.25shift (2 hours). Automatic measurement available. Please read here for the operation of automatic measurement on BL45XU.
• BL26B1 : 1shift (8 hours).
• BL32XU : 1.5shift (12 hours). *0.25 shift (2 hours) only automatic measurement without visit.

SPring-8 CryoTEM is now accepting machine time requests.
The applicable period is as follows.
10am April 8 to 10am June 9

Machine time requests are reviewed by the L1 Subcommittee and, in principle, will be allocated on the first-come basis.
Procedure:

1. Please select the machine time (“Open”) in Machine time schedule.
2. Send an email to pxbl(followed by @spring8.or.jp) at least 10 days before the desired date. Please attach the two forms (Machine time Survey Sheet、Sample Spec Sheet) when you apply, and specify the date. If you have a photo of the sample with an electron microscope, please send it too.

To use the CryoTEM, pre-use training is required either in regular workshops or in your own machine time. If you wish to have machine time before taking the course, please indicate so in the special notes.
